The pharmaceutical industry is subject to high safety standards. The example shown here shows the inspection of a needle facet. The test finds irregularities in the needle contour. Furthermore, various dimensions, over- and under-injections and the angle of the needle can be checked.
The system structure consists of an industrial PC, a matrix camera, the COGNEX VisionPro library, a telecentric backlight and a telecentric lens. The working distances and fields of view are tailored to the task and can be adjusted for similar applications.
